.:: WIP : Carousel, Week 3 ::.
doing a lot better than next week, but still a long way to go
especially since i don’t stitch every single day like i used to…
.:: WIP : Carousel ~ Week 2 ~
can you tell the difference?
i almost had no time to stitch last week, what with all the baking, traveling, grocery shopping, etc.. i only had time to add some minor details
and i discovered that i did a miscount.. again! luckily it affected only a small part so i only needed little time to fix it
.:: WIP : Carousel ~ Week 1::.
onto my next project : carousel! mwahaha…

this is my first sodastitch project, which i fell in love with, as soon as i laid eyes upon it. working with all the vivid-colored threads is definitely a refreshing thing to do after all those soft pastel colors of precious moments ~ not that i don’t love PM!
funny thing is the colors kinda jump here and there. i like to work on one color and finish all stitches of that color before moving on to the next, and the colors on this chart are so jumpy that i need to count and recount to make sure i’m not making any mistake. luckily, i haven’t make any up to this point (still a long way to go!)
.:: A Kiss To Build A Dream On ::.
precious moments has been one of my favorite for years, so i’m really excited to finally finish a PM stitching project. it took me 6 weeks but i’m really content with the result. it’s so pretty, if i may say so myself. it kinda makes me want to stitch other wedding-themed precious moments! ![]()
.:: WIP : A Kiss To Build A Dream On ~ Week 5 ::.
i usually posted a weekly update every wednesday or thursday. so things kinda get in the way this week, and i know it’s a bit late, so this is how it looked like on tuesday night
i managed to finish the minor details, such as flowers, shoes, etc and left out some of the whites of the gown to finish later. so much easier this way
currently, i’ve finished the whites on the gown and have also started the painful backstitching
.:: september stitching party ::.
i had a blast at our second stitching meet-ups. i do hope this will become a regular thing, as i feel it motivates me to seriously stitch. i’ve been through a couple of ups and downs ( speaking of stitch ) these last couple of weeks, and stitching together helped a lot. i just love the calmness of the situation when we seriously stitched, the occasional jokes, and the gossip
we shared a good laugh and we certainly missed a couple of stitchers who couldn’t be there with us last saturday.
our second meet-ups was at my house. there were five participants, cherlee, cinde, ika, aina and myself. as usual, cherlee and cinde were the first to arrive. i didn’t have enough time to prepare the drinks, and i had to let them make their own
while waiting for the others, we dwelled and drooled at cherlee’s magazines. how i hope to have 48 hours in a day just so i could stitch all those gorgeous patterns! ika came next, and aina came last. i think aina made such a good progress, since she started stitching just a couple of weeks ago! i, myself had to resort to my precious moments project, as i haven’t finished that one, while i was actually hoping to have moved on to another project
ika, on the other hand, had to restart her seven-year-old stitching with her newly purchased aida ( good thing we had cherlee the lovely seller ). at least she got it right this time ~ thanks to the masters haha
cherlee was still working on her giant wedding project, while cinde almost finished her cute sodastitch project.
we ordered mie gm for lunch ~ very unfortunate for the others, who were dying to taste mie aloy ( next time we’ll have mie aloy *wink* ). the delivery took quite some time, by the time the food was safely delivered to my house, i think the girls had suffered from hunger
after a rather fulfilling lunch, dessert was served. es sarang burung, courtesy of cherlee. we were beginning to think that we’d fall asleep after having so much food! after lunch, we went back to my room to stitch some more, and i was quite happy with my own progress
i must say the meeting was abruptly stopped when ika said she was going home to prepare herself before church. how time flies! it was only 4 o’clock. i wished the meeting could be extended for a couple more hours hahaha…
next month’s meeting would be at ika’s. i can’t wait.. i hope a lot more people show up. and i think we need to set the time to 10 am rather than 11 am
last but not least, a must-do : pictures of our progress!

.:: WIP : A Kiss To Build A Dream On ~ Week 4 ::.
week 4, and i did an even less impressive job. i was working on the girl’s dress when i realized that i missed a vertical line on the boy. i had to rework half of the boy’s pants. i did a little miscount on the girl’s dress as well, it was both frustrating and demotivating
in addition, i’m so engrossed in the oh-so-many interesting tv shows.. melrose place, the vampire diaries, gossip girl, kourtney & khloe take miami, not to mention the beautiful life and heroes among other titles, which i haven’t got time to watch!
.:: WIP : A Kiss To Build A Dream On ~ Week 3 ::.
this week, i didn’t spend that much time on stitching as i was busy with everything else
.:: WIP : A Kiss To Build A Dream On ~ Week 2 ::.
i dare say i made quite a progress this week. ha! i’m really pleased with what i’ve done this week, despite the fact that i didn’t get to stitch anything the last couple of days
the aida is really a delight to work with, quarter stitches are no longer a problem!
.:: WIP : A Kiss To Build A Dream On ~ Week 1 ::.
now that i’ve finished the previous project, i’m excited to start a new one. in fact i started two at a time, DMC Rose Fairy and Precious Moments A Kiss To Build A Dream On. however, the last couple of days i’m so engrossed in the second one and didn’t even once lay my hands on the Rose Fairy *oops*
for this project, i’m using Blue Moon iridescent pink aida ( 14 count ) *the color didn’t really show in the picture, huh?* what i really like about this material is that it’s stiff and provides a sturdy base for my stitching. i can easily stitch without fear of ruining the fabric! floss-wise, i’m stitching using DMC embroidery floss ( art 117 ) that i got from lovely cherlee.
.:: girls just wanna have fun ::.
yang original so-so banget, ga pake rhum jadi ga nendang sama sekali.. tiramisu wangi banget, tapi again, biasa aja yah IMHO. gue tetep prefer delicious hahaha.. but that’s probably just me.. dari segi ukuran juga buat gue kecil banget.
anyway, balik ke stitching day. abis beli kue sus gue pun langsung meluncur ke apartemen olin. justru yang rumahnya paling jauh malah dateng paling pertama! hahaha.. emang semangat bener nih ibu-ibu dua. terus sementara nungguin ika, sambil nontonin ibu rumah tangga masak nasi sambil siapin lalapan. ga lama, ika dateng dan mulailah kita stitching. miss o dibimbing master cinde, ika sibuk bongkar ulang stitch berusia 7 tahun nya gara-gara pake 6 strands, instead of 2 *swt*, cherlee sibuk sama project wedding bagong nya, dan gue asik liat-liat majalah cherlee. hahaha.. lain kali bawain lagi yak majalah-majalah lainnya… bener-bener salut dan iri banget liat sulaman cherlee dan cinde yang rapi banget.. emang tangan gue ganas kali ye jadi ga bisa serapi mereka
gue personally ga terlalu buat banyak progress, kebanyakan main-mainnya.. hihi..
makan siang hari ini ayam kremes bu tjondro. walaupun sakit tenggorokan, tetep gue lahap pan belinya jauh. jarang-jarang nih bisa makan
oke lah ayam kremesnya, boleh sering-sering bawain ya cher, cin hehe.. abis makan siang, lanjut lagi stitching. sampe akhirnya setengah lima dan mulai pada bubaran. betah juga ternyata ye seharian gitu. seru banget, dari awal heboh rencanain acaranya, heboh mikirin bawa makanan apa, sampe dah kaya mau piknik aja kita. me totally loving it.. we definitely should do this in a regular basis. hihi… next, my place? berikutnya musti pake sarang burung ya.. hehe..
.:: finished! ~ Just Married ::.
sebenernya dah kelar dari hari jumat minggu lalu sih, cuma lupa mulu bawa memori kamera hohoho..
kira-kira selesai dalam waktu 4 1/2 minggu. and surprisingly i found backstitching was kinda relaxing!
.:: WIP : Just Married ~ Week 3::.
week 3. still struggling with the gown
good news, the guys’ suit needs only a little stitching (compared to the gown!)
bad news, i won’t most likely do any stitching this week, at least not until weekend
and here’s two books that caught my attention when i was browsing the net.
*somebody kind enough to buy it for me?

.:: WIP : Just Married ~ Week 2 ::.
on to second week, i’m still in a high spirit though i’m getting more and more impatient to finish it, just so i can start another one
it’s a bad habit of mine, drooling over (a lot) of other patterns before even finishing the current one.
this week, i mostly work on the white parts of the girl’s gown, and i must say i hate stitching white on white, i don’t think my stitching were as neat as the other colors i was working on the previous week. worse still, the white strand seems to tangle a lot. the kit includes blue moon strands, and i was thinking to get blue moon instead of dmc for the carousel project, considering its lower price. but now i have to reconsider the decision, since this white strand is so frustrating to work with ( however, the lower price is so tempting )..
.:: WIP : Just Married ~ Week 1::.
looking at cherlee’s and cinde’s works really motivated me to go back to the world of cross stitching. especially after i browsed through sodastitch patterns in cherlee’s shop, My Hobby Town. i dug up my old stuff and found my old WIP project, but the DMC strands were nowhere to be found.
last sunday, i finally gave up to the temptation and bought a new kit from hobby craft.
ignore the typo
spent a couple of hours before bedtime, tadaaaa..
not much, isn’t it? cross stitching definitely requires a lot of patience..
and here’s how it looks like after a week ( 5 days to be exact )..
i’m hoping to finish it in two months *crossing my fingers* wish me the best of luck!
as usual, as soon as i started the new project, i have my eyes on already glued to a lot of cute patterns. i’m narrowing it down to two..
first, a couple-on-a-carousel sodastitch pattern. totally love it! i’m getting it from cherlee!
*antara tak tahan dan takut kehabisan*
the other one is a wedding-themed precious moments pattern, titled a kiss to build a dream on.
.:: chinese cupid girl, finished ::.
i actually finished this project last friday, but haven’t got the time to transfer the pics to my computer. it took me about 3 weeks to finish this chinese cupid girl pattern, and luckily i could finish it right before valentine, coz i had planned to give it to my beloved one on that day ^_^ this was a small project, the end result being only about 18 cm x 18 cm. i know, i know, i’m no expert on this, but i’m quite content that i was able to finish it..
i took it to hobbycraft to get it framed yesterday.. i knew that it will be more expensive, but since it was a gift, i didn’t want to take any risk by taking it to any other place. hopefully it will turn out great ^_^
now that i had finished this project, i have to get back to the half-done purple ballerina project… i still have that and an untouched japanese girl bead stitch project, and also another untouched project, aries cat cross stitch. ganbatte… ^_^’
.:: cross stitch projects ::.
right now i’m working on two projects concurrently. i bought purple ballerina ready-to-stitch kit a couple of weeks ago. i went straight to the mall and bought it right after i posted "longing for cross stitch" in my blog. up until now, it’s 30% stitched. but i’ve used up all of the 725 dmc thread and now i don’t have any of it left to finish the hair T_T so sad.. i’ve been looking for it for some time now and haven’t found any. somebody help me!!
and yesterday, i found a chinese cupid girl kit. so cute ^_^ i bought it right away, and started stitching right after i got home. i have to work hard on this one, finish it neatly right away, and get it framed, cause i have plans for it. it’s been only one night since i started working on it, and i’m so excited. i even brought it with me on my way to work. i’m sure i’ll finish it on time ^_^
ganbatte!!
.:: longing for cross stitch ::.
just found so many blogs about cross stitch, knit, crochet and other crafts. browsing through the pictures of their finished projects *they’re really cute*, now i’m really excited to start my own cross stitch project. it’s been a while *forget that.. it’s been ages* since the last time i involved in a cross stitch project. i bought a pattern book last year, and it was full of "precious moments" patterns *my favourites* i’ve been thinking to buy some supplies to start a project, but never got round to it. now i’m thinking to buy a small stitch package for a start, just to lift up my mood. *sigh* i really want to go and buy some T_T
