and no, i don’t mean my very own creation, but the one i got from this restaurant in grand indonesia called my pancake, which i visited with my sis and her hubby today.

although the pasta selection was quite tempting, i went with the one thing i couldn’t resist : waffles i ordered black delight, single chocolate waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, ( two small slices of ) strawberries, whipped cream, icing sugar and chocolate sauce. oh and there was an astor thingy too.

when it comes down to presentation, i am impressed. not only did the waffle looked mouthwateringly delicious, but they did a little extra effort for creating this zigzag lines with the chocolate sauce. mmm.. wicked!

i started with the astor thingy first. ugh. it was neither astor nor twister. i don’t know what brand they were using, but i’m quite sure it was a cheapo. pardon me if i’m mistaken here, but really you’re better off with the one in the supermarkets.

next was the ice cream. we could actually select between chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. but i decided to have vanilla, for once. it was a good choice, considering the waffle was a chocolate one, but i was very dissapointed to find out that it was …. *drumroll* diamond ice cream. okay, it was just a guess. but i was 99.9% sure that it was not homemade. that’s two dissapointments already!

moving on to the chocolate waffle. this was probably the only thing that was really good. in fact, it was that good, that i forgave the other dissapointments. it was moist, it was fluffy, and best of all it was very chocolatey. it almost tasted like brownies, only fluffier. i tried a bite of the vanilla waffle and it was just okay, but the chocolate waffle, now that’s the one worth of a try. if you claim yourself a chocolate lover, then you should give it a try!

i have to admit that originally i was hoping to make something more bluish than this, but one thing led to another and here we have a green. i still like the end result

my recipe for this :
a 1/5 bottle of clear nailpolish, in this case i used revlon double twist
+/- 1/4 tsp of turquoise pigment ( i didn’t really use a measurement spoon )
10 drops of barry m in spring green
30 drops of barry m in turquoise
25 drops of china glaze in turned up turqouise

all i did was put on the ingredients on the revlon bottle which only 1/5 full, and shook well.

at first, i was very reluctant to use CG turned up turquoise, as it was green and i was looking for blue. but the “concoction” was very sheer without it, so i finally gave in and put turned up turquoise into the mixture. and voila.. now we have a green that looks like it has a jelly finish from afar, but it is actually shimmery. it has silver shimmers with a hint of gold sheen from the pigment. it is also very glossy, no top coat needed, since (d’oh!) i already used a clear top coat as a base. texture is still a bit sheer, two coats providing a medium coverage, showing a hint of nail lines if you look closely, three coats full coverage.

i put on two coats at first, but i wasn’t too happy with the result, and put on another layer. then, my hair got in the way and it streaked some of my still-wet nails, and i had to put on another layer. it was too thick and took ages to dry i should’ve settled with two layers.

having to queue for over one and a half hour only to get some tickets for the next day’s show, surely i expected the movie to be great. i had known a lot of people said it was not that good, but my dad wanted to see it, so i finally went out with my family to watch it. although the effect was magnificent, i think the movie lacks emotion. it depicts the struggle of some people trying to get to the “big ship” in order to survive, and it leaves the part where some people are left behind. granted there were some scenes picturing the tsunami washing over india, hawaii sank into the sea, etc, but that’s just about it. no emotions attached. period.

i am in love! Skin Food VI407 a.k.a puppy purple is the most insanely beautiful deep purple polish i’ve ever worn. on it’s own, it’s a pretty deep purple shade with irridescent shimmers of many colors including purple and pink. VERY pretty. indoor, the shimmers are only subtly visible, but once you get out to a bright and sunny day, it shows its true colors, the shimmers becoming more visible without being overwhelming at all. unfortunately, i didn’t have a chance to take a picture of it under natural bright light, will definitely do someday

the texture of this polish is beyond perfect. it’s very easy to apply and it’s thick enough that one coat is truly what is necessary, although two would never hurt. finish is a bit more shiny than the other skin food polishes, but i don’t think it’s perfect without a top coat. definitely one of the best polish in skin food nail vita line!

as usual, i applied a coat of TFS base coat before the polish, and a coat of TFS top coat after the polish. here’s how it looks like up close..

i’ve imagined that it would look great being mattified, then i realized that i hadn’t got the chance to experiment mattifying a glittery polish. so instead of grabbing the great essie matte about you, i opted for beautistyle glittery polish for a more glittery finish. it’s only a regular transparent polish with silver holographic glitters. but i quite like how it looks like above the deep purple base. it gives that different edgy look to the color, one that i would go for a fun night out, i imagine. of course, the pink shimmers don’t really shine through with all the silver glitters above it, but it’s still there in the background and subtly preventing the color for being too bland and boring.

after it dries out, i then applied essie matte about you, and once again, i am wow-ed by this mattifying top coat. it’s purple with attitude! as usual, the color becomes a bit darker than the original one, and rather bluish in this case, but it never fails to impress me. it somehow flattens the glitters and although it’s no longer shiny, it says a lot more than the before it is mattified. the glitters look like entrapped multicolor stars. finish is velvety, soft to the touch, dark and fabulous nails. like it? i LOVE it!

you know what happens when i experience this good an experience with a polish? i’m feeling like buying some more! haha..

friday night, i went out with some friends to watch a christmas carol in 3d. all in all, it’s the best 3d movie i’ve ever watched. if jim carrey tried to outdo tom hanks and the polar express, he actually did! i really feel like going to the cinema and rewatch it, it’s that good.

as always, i had a good laugh, and the day ended with us driving round gading area to find a place that was still opened at midnight. luckily, we found a ropita vendor that opened for the whole 24 hours.

as i’ve told you a couple of days ago, i’m currently into sheet masks, which leads me to MBD, which generally receives good ( if not great ) reviews. among the various masks, the japanese cherry blossom mask seems a little too interesting for me for a) it’s pink and the packaging is really cute; b) it’s one of the newest masks on the MBD line; c) i love cherry blossom fragrances. if anything, i’d surely love the fragrance. and i wasn’t mistaken. it is delightfully fragranced. the fragrant is not overwhelming, it’s just a pleasant subtle theurapetic smell that somehow enables me to sit back and relax and enjoy the whole masking experience.

the sheet is quite thick and enriched with a generous amount of essence ~ although it’s not stated how much essence exactly a sheet mask contains. i put on the mask for about a half hour and there were still some amount of essence left, which afterwards i happily applied to my neck and hand before doing that, however, i gently massage the leftover essence on my face, and it sank comfortably, leaving no sticky residue.

effectiveness-wise, i must say it doesn’t offer long term effect, but i really don’t expect that from a sheet mask. i mean, using one sheet mask won’t change your world completely overnight. i’d be scared if it does however, sheet masks generally offer an instant hydrating and brightening effect, which is what this mask does exactly. it also restores that healthy-clean feeling after a long day with full makeup on.

all in all, a really nice, effective and fairly-priced sheet mask <3

is it really worth worrying?

every time i wear this polish, i always feel a bit christmasy, especially this time of the year, with the season just a few weeks ahead. love the colour, though one layer doesn’t seem enough. i applied two layers, and it was so much better. just the right amount of opaque-ness. it’s not too shiny, so it is a lot prettier when topped with a transparent polish.

and essie matte about you makes it even more fun, more intense whatsoever. though i like the matte version, i still prefer the original one, as it looks a little more purplish while the matte version looks a bit brownish.

just this morning, i was stuck in traffic for one and a half friggin’ hours in what supposed to be a 15-minute ride. i had to drop off at my sis’ office building because the traffic was so horrible that it was impossible for her to drop me off my building without her being late. and i knew she had tons of work to do. so i took a taxi instead. it wasn’t far, i should’ve reached my building in no time, but traffic was a nightmare, and i ended up spending one and a half hour in the taxi. the sky had cleared up and it wasn’t even raining at all! why does rain always turn traffic into a nightmare? that, i never understand.
